The picturesque Randwick Racecourse is preparing for this Saturday when the course will come alive on Royal Sovereign Stakes Day featuring eight great races.
The $150 000 Group 2 Breeders Classic is one of four black type events scheduled for the meeting and has attracted a classy line up of 11 mares ready to fight it out for the $90 000 first prize.
Madame Pedrille is currently sitting as the $2.90 favourite with Sportsbet. The lightly raced five-year-old daughter of Secret Savings has an impressive winning strike rate of five wins from nine career starts and will start from barrier nine with Chris Munce aboard on Saturday.
Following closely in the betting markets at $4 is the Clarry Conners-trained Court. Court has displayed sensational recent form, coming off a win in the Carrington Stakes (1100m) at Randwick on New Years Day and has since then won a barrier trail. The four-year-old Anabaa mare has drawn barrier four for Saturday and will carry the topweight of 56.5kg.
The Group 2 Breeders Classic will run as race seven on Saturday at 5:05pm (NSW time).
