The money is steady for the Peter Moody-trained favourite in this afternoon’s markets on the Thousand Guineas 2015 with Pasadena Girl well supported to become a dual Group 1 winner over the mile.

One of 11 three-year-old fillies making up the field for this spring’s $500,000 Group 1 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m), set to run as Caulfield Guineas Day Race 8 at 5:05pm (AEST), the Moody-trained daughter of Savabeel won the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick back in April.

She returned in early September at Moonee Valley to run second in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1400m) before a last start fifth in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) she is tipped to atone for here when back up in distance.

After opening at $4.40 in the Thousand Guineas odds at Ladbrokes.com.au, who are offering Best Tote or SP + 20% on all 10 Caulfield races this weekend, Pasadena Girl has been backed into $3.70 to become the third favourite in five years to win joining Atlantic Jewel (2011) and Guelph (2013).

Also firming is the in-form Badawiya ($5.50 into $5) drawn out in barrier 10 but still well fancied to make it three on the trot after the Mick Price-trained Al Maher filly blitzed her Flemington rivals by two lengths to win the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) over the mile only last Sunday.

Other fillies to have their prices wound in by the bookies include Ciaron Maher’s Prelude third placegetter Jameka ($10 into $8) who won the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) back in mid-March and Thousand Guineas Prelude runner-up Payroll ($19 into $17), while the big market mover slashed from $51 into $17 is Take Pride.

Jumping from barrier five with apprentice Patrick Moloney in the saddle, Murray Johnson’s Reward For Effort filly Take Pride has won three of her eight starts to date including the last start three length victory over Secret Agenda in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley back in September 25.

Easing out in Thousand Guineas betting meanwhile are the likes of the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Atlantic Jewel Stakes winner Stay With Me ($4.20 out to $5.50), Prelude fourth placed Super Cash ($14 out to $18) drawn well in barrier two, Michael Moroney’s lightly-raced Alaskan Rose ($21 out to $31) who has won two of her four starts to date, Gold Coast-trained Sagaronne ($15 out to $21) and the big drifter Don’t Doubt Marley ($26 out to $51) who ran last beaten seven lengths in the Prelude last month.
