The weather in Sydney for a partly cloudy day with only a few light showers predicted early in the morning meaning there is unlikely to be any change to the current Good (4) Randwick track rating.

Randwick racing gets underway at 11:20am (AEST) and the bumper 10-race card continues through until the last at 5:00pm (AEST).

Punters are treated to four Group status races across the card starting with Race 6 at 2:25pm (AEST) with the Flight Stakes-bound fillies doing battle in the Group 2 $200,000 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m).

Chris Waller’s smart filly She’s All Class is the notably scratching from the 2021 Silver Shadow Stakes field, betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for which is led by dual Group 1 fourth placed Four Moves Ahead for John Sargent. Picarones for Godolphin has also been withdrawn from the Silver Shadow.

Next-up at 3:05pm (AEST) is the Group 3 $160,000 Show County Quality (1200m) for potential The Everest-bound horses and dual Group 1 runner-up Hilal for Hawkes Racing and star runner Viridine – the latter being saved for a softer track – are the notable withdrawals from the important sprint showdown.

Race 8 at 3:45pm (AEST) sees the meeting’s marquee race steal the show with a typically top-class field gathered for this season’s Group 1 $500,000 Winx Stakes (1400m).

The race’s six-time winning trainer Waller is in with a strong hand of continuing his outstanding record in the race, 2021 Winx Stakes betting at Ladbrokes.com.au led by his defending champion Verry Elleegant kicking off her spring.

The last of the Black-Type events is the penultimate race, the Group 3 $160,000 Toy Show Quality (1100m) set to run at 4:25pm (AEST) with a capacity field of fillies and mares where the widely-drawn favourite Entriviere from New Zealand has been sensationally withdrawn due to an unsatisfactory vet’s check.
