A line-up of key Golden Slipper bound juveniles faces off in the Silver Slipper Stakes 2026 at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday with markets dominated by the progressive Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Shiki.

Farnan (2020) from the Waterhouse & Bott stable was the last juvenile to complete the Silver Slipper / Golden Slipper double, and the price on whichever young gun wins Saturday’s Group 2 is sure to firm in all-in Golden Slipper betting at Ladbrokes.com.au.
The $300,000 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) field features 10 hopefuls and it is one from the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott yard again dominating the markets with Shiki at $3.60 and firming fast through Ladbrokes.com.au.
The Too Darn Hot filly is looking to atone for her last start seventh at the Gold Coast when finishing midfield behind Unit Five – a key chance in Melbourne’s $2 million Blue Diamond this weekend – in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic last month.
She found herself caught back in the Magic Millions but was far from disgraced.
Showed her potential to reel off good late sectionals in a subsequent Canterbury trial win by a big margin earlier this month and looks ready to cross from her gate seven draw with jockey Tim Clark and follow her stablemate, predicted leader Eviction Notice, right until the end.
Eviction Notice meanwhile is rated a $15 pop to go all-the-way with the Stay Inside colt coming off a third fresh in the Group 3 Canonbury Stakes which has been a good Silver Slipper guide in recent years.
The Chris Waller-trained Hidrix impressed on debut winning the Canonbury here at Rosehill on January 31 and the grey Extreme Choice colt pays $5 to remain undefeated in the Silver Slipper this weekend.
He got things his way from the inside alley last time out and faces stiffer competition from a wider alley making this a tougher test, but he could prove a genuine gem.
Hidrix is also the shortest-priced of the Silver Slipper runners in futures Golden Slipper betting for the $5 million feature on March 21 paying $10 on the second line at Ladbrokes.com.au behind Warwoven ($7).
The other best out of that key lead-up is runner-up Confederation also lining-up for Waller as the main danger at $4.20 Silver Slipper Stakes odds.
Master hoop James McDonald sticks aboard the Canonbury runner-up this Saturday and the colt presents fitter now and ready to sit on pace with the potential to go one better now.
In an open market a further two runners are also under $10 for the win with the Group 3 Breeders Plate winner from the spring Incognito ($5.50) second up for Michael Freedman off a disappointing fifth in the Canonbury and the Phillip Stokes-trained Stretan Ruler ($8) who heads to Sydney off a game fourth in the boys’ Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield last time out.
The 2026 Silver Slipper Stakes is scheduled as Rosehill Race 6 at 3:25pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
