The weather in Sydney today is mostly sunny and without any notable rainfall on the radar the current Good (4) Rosehill track rating looks set to stay across the afternoon.
Rosehill racing gets underway at 11:55am (AEST) and the bumper 10-race card continues through until the last at 5:25pm (AEST).
Punters are treated to five Group status races on the program starting with Race 4 at 1:40pm where a line-up of potential The Metropolitan hopefuls do battle in the Group 3 $160,000 Colin Stephen Quality (2400m).
The 2021 Colin Stephen Quality field is down to 11 with the early scratching of the Hawkes Racing-trained Pesto (11) and markets at Ladbrokes.com.au are led by the Chris Waller-trained No Compromise.
A potential Epsom Handicap lead-up is the next feature with the Group 2 $200,000 Shannon Stakes (1500m) due to jump as Race 6 (2:50pm) and all 10 original acceptors are still in the mix including the favourite Love Tap.
Rosehill Race 7 today is the lucrative Group 2 $400,000 Golden Pendant (1400m) for the mares and with three early scratchings the updated markets have star Kiwi-trained Entriviere as the one to beat off her Sheraco Stakes victory.
The meeting’s marquee race is the Group 1 $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) running as Race 8 at 4:05pm and the 13-horse Golden Rose field is dominated by Group 1 winner Anamoe for Godolphin coming off a Run To The Rose lead-up win.
Group racing continues with the penultimate race on the card, the Group 3 $200,000 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) for the three-year-old staying types where the capacity field is led in betting by Head Of State from the Waller stable.
