Randwick hosts the Missile Stakes Day program with the card moved from Rosehill due to COVID-19 and, despite no crowds on track, it shapes-up as a top day’s racing.
The weather in Sydney today is mainly fine and without any serious rain on the radar the current Good (4) Randwick track rating looks set to remain across the afternoon.
Randwick racing gets underway at 11:15am (AEST) and the bumper 10-race spring lead-up program continues through until the last at 4:55pm (AEST).
Punters are treated to a double-shot of Black-Type racing in Sydney today starting with Race 7 at 2:55pm (AEST) when a diminutive but class field face off in the Group 2 $200,000 Missile Stakes (1200m).
The 2021 Missile Stakes field is down to just seven runners after the earlier withdrawal of Hellenism (7) and the latest markets at Ladbrokes.com.au have Joe Pride’s returning first-up specialist, Group 2 Sapphire Stakes winning mare Fasika as the favourite from barrier one.
The key support act on the program follows as Randwick Race 8 at 3:35pm (AEST) with a line-up of Group 1 Golden Rose-bound three-year-olds butting heads in the Listed $150,000 The Rosebud (1100m).
The 2021 The Rosebud field features nine youngsters after the withdrawal of Tristate and betting is led by the Hawkes Racing-trained Snitzel colt Remarque first-up in gate one and fit from two lead-up Rosehill trial wins last month.
See below for the complete Missile Stakes Day 2021 race program and Sydney race scratchings ahead of the first before heading to Ladbrokes.com.au for all the weekend’s top racing odds and offers.
