Bumper Nominations for 2018 Tattersall’s Club Tiara

The last Group 1 of the current racing season is set to have a capacity field with thirty-seven fillies and mares making up the nominations for the 2018 Group 1 $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Club Tiara (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Group 1 winning mares Daysee Doom, Shillelagh, Volpe Veloce, Miss Wilson and Aide Memoire head the nomination’s list for the Tattersall’s Club Tiara along with a host of Group 1 placed fillies and mares.

The Ron Quinton trained Daysee Doom was the winner of the Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill during the 2018 Sydney Autumn Carnival and will be having her first run back since running eleventh to Alizee in the Group 1 $1m Coolmore Legacy Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 14.

Shillelagh from the Chris Waller stable has been struggling to find her best form since winning the Group 1 $1m Kennedy Mile (1600m) at Flemington during the 2017 Melbourne Spring Carnival and is coming off a last start sixth to Santa Ana Lane in the Group 1 $1.5m Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 9 while Kiwi mares Miss Wilson, Aide Memoire and Volpe Veloce are Group 1 winners in New Zealand.

Stradbroke Handicap second and third placegetters Super Cash and Champagne Cuddles will be chasing a maiden Group 1 win in the Tattersall’s Club Tiara.

Last year’s Tattersall’s Club Tiara runner up Prompt Response will also get her chance for a breakthrough Group 1 victory with some good recent form that includes a second to Alizee in the Queens Of The Turf Stakes and last start second to Invincibella in the Group 2 $200,000 Bundaberg Rum Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 9.

Invincibella is one of four Chris Waller trained mares among the nominations for the Tattersall’s Club Tiara and as well as Shillelagh, stablemates French Emotion and Noire are also entered.

Missrock is also another mare who has been knocking on the door for a Group 1 win after being runner up in the last two runnings of the Group 1 $1m Darley Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville.

Local mare Savanna Amour is yet to be tested in Group 1 company but is a winner at Group 2 and Group 3 level and is coming off a last start win in the Listed $100,000 Makers Mark Hinkler Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on June 9.

The Bjorn Baker trained Champagne Cuddles has been installed the early favourite for the Tattersall’s Club Tiara at $5.50 with Ladbrokes.com.au just ahead of the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Prompt Response at $6 and Andrew Noblet’s Group 1 placed mare Super Cash at $6.50.

Early betting for the 2018 Tattersall’s Club Tiara at Ladbrokes.com.au: $5.50n Champagne Cuddles, $6 Prompt Response, $6.50 Super Cash, $8 Miss Wilson, Savanna Amour, $9 Moss Trip, Shillelagh, $10 Daysee Doom, Invincible Gem, $16 Invincibella, Missrock, Pedrena, Siren’s Fury, Volpe Veloce, $21 Jamaican Rain, $26 Noire, $61 Aide Memoire, French Emotion, Just Dreaming, Legless Veuve, Magic Alibi, Schism, Shazee Lee, Spright, $1011 or better the rest.
