The Group 1 $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) is scheduled as Randwick Race 7 of 10 on the bumper program and features 17-time Group 1 winner Winx up against nine rivals in her autumn grand final.

Winx won last year’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes by over five lengths defeating Hartnell after taking out the Chipping Norton – George Ryder Stakes double.
She comes off the same two Group 1 wins this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and chases her seventh win from eight starts at the 2000m distance.
Jockey Hugh Bowman continues his association on Winx today from barrier 10, with the only foreseeable danger looking at the Queen Elizabeth Stakes odds being Humidor ($11) for Darren Weir in gate one.
Humidor however has twice faced Winx for two defeats running third in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington and second in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Cox Plate (2040m) during the spring of last year in Melbourne.
Winx has had a small gear change for the race today, Racing NSW approving her to have a synthetic hoof filler on the inside of her near hind hoof.
Already the country’s highest ever earning racehorse, Winx will take her career prize money to up over $18.8 million with another win this afternoon before heading to the paddock for a well-earned rest.
A trip to England for the Royal Ascot carnival has been taken off the cards, with Winx a chance to return for the spring in Melbourne and attempt an historic fourth Ladbrokes Cox Plate victory.
Winx Form For Today
Winx is third-up and was last seen winning the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill by three-quarters of a length over Happy Clapper.
Happy Clapper franked that form with a win in last weekend’s Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) and pays $16 for his run on the quick back-up this afternoon.
The Winx record at Randwick (18:14-3-0) and winning strike rate over 2000m (7:6-0-0) speak for themselves.
