A field of 10 face off in this year’s $1 million Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m), which is duo to jump as Moonee Valley Race 7 at 9:45pm (AEST) this evening and that Ladbrokes.com.au is offering Best Tote or SP + 20% markets on!
Four of the horses in the Manikato Stakes field are currently under $10 for the win in the latest markets with the clear favourite being the Team Hawkes-trained Chautauqua.
Coming off a Group 2 winning double this time in, the Encosta De Lago five-year-old has his TJ Smith Stakes winning jockey Tommy Berry aboard for the first time since an All Aged Stakes third to Dissident during the autumn in place of Dwayne Dunn.
Berry will need a clever ride from barrier two tonight at the tight Moonee Valley track, but Chautauqua still looks the one to beat paying $2 to take it out.
The next best in Manikato Stakes betting are the rails-drawn sprint star Terravista ($6), 2013 winner Buffering who has been backed in early from $8 to $7 on the back of his third Moir Stakes win at the track and the returning Stradbroke Handicap – Tattersall’s Tiara double winning mare from the winter Srikandi ($7).
