Both Fiveandahalfstar and Super Cool have been ruled out of the 2014 autumn racing carnival.
Fiveandahalfstar was forced out of last year’s spring due to a leg injury and appeared on track to be up and running in time for the autumn.
However, a scan has detected a small amount of heat on the leg and has led to Fiveandahalfstar’s withdrawal from the upcoming carnival.
The four-year-old has not had a run since winning the $2.27 million The BMWin April last year.

Fiveandahalfstar produced four sensational seconds at the top level of racing in last year’s autumn campaign, before finally executing a win in the prestigious The BMW.
The Hotel Grand gelding is trained at Royal Randwick by Anthony Cummings and is expected to be a big contender in the 2014 spring racing carnival.
“I thought we may have had him right two weeks ago, but I detected a little bit of heat in the leg,” Cummings said.
“I was looking at other avenues come the autumn, but … (we’ll) put him (back) in the paddock.”
Meanwhile, Super Cool will also be saved for the spring due to his arduous recent preparation.
Super Cool failed to salute during his six most recent starts, with his latest run resulting in a ninth placing in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup on November 5.
The Fastnet Rock colt is trained at Flemington Racecourse by Mark Kavanagh and will be a five-year-old by the time he returns to the racing circuit.
“He had a tough spring and I thought, ‘No, we’ll just give him that time off, let him recover and look at the spring’,” Kavanagh said.
“He’s got plenty of time, he’s a gelding, so missing the autumn is not a problem and he’ll probably come back a fitter and stronger horse in the spring.”
