Darren Weir’s talented provincial cups champ Hurdy Gurdy Man will look to bag another trophy this Sunday facing off against a crack field in the 2013 Werribee Cup.

A final field of 10 stayers is accepted for this year’s $120,000 Listed TAB Werribee Cup (2600m), the field and weights led by Hurdy Gurdy Man.
Drawn in gate six with Brad Rawiller to ride they are allocated the equal 60kg top weight along with Tony McEvoy’s recent Murray Bridge Gold Cup winner Pelicano drawn one on their inside with gate five.
The duo both come via a run in the Listed Ballarat Cup (2200m) in the mud from November 24.
Street Cry six-year-old Hurdy Gurdy Man ran fourth from the outside barrier (16) with 60kg while Pelicano, with that same weight as well, ran second three quarters of a length ahead of Weir’s horse.
With Ballarat Cup winner The Offer not backing up on Sunday, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Court Of Jewels five-year-old Pelicano look the two to beat at Werribee despite their hefty weights.
If successful on Sunday Hurdy Gurdy Man will be enjoying their third Cups win for the season adding to those they won at Murtoa (2050m) and Hamilton (2200m) in October.
The next heaviest weighted in the Werribee Cup field then with 56kg in gate four is Michael Kent’s Golan gelding You Think So.
The Torney Night Cup winner over 2500m at Moonee Valley by three lengths back in February, You Think So has had two runs this prep.
First-up they were fourth to Constant Force in the Kyneton Cup.
They were then last seen failing to handle the Heavy (9) Ballarat track when fifth, beaten eight lengths in the Cup having also been blocked for a run.
The two others weighted above the 54kg minimum are then Crafty Cruiser and the David Hayes-trained Unchain My Heart drawn in barriers one and two respectively.
Good Journey six-year-old Crafty Cruiser is after their first win since taking out the Listed RM Ansett Classic (2415m) in the wet at Mornington back in late September.
They’ve been competitive in all but one of their runs since, failing to handle the Flemington track conditions for their Melbourne Cup Day assignment, including a last start third to Caravan Rolls on in the Listed Sandown Cup (3200m) a month ago.
Unchain My Heart is another proven two miler having won the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes at Flemington back in May.
The dour staying mare, now seven, comes off a good fourth over 2000m at Caulfield from November 30 and will appreciate dropping back from 58.5kg there to 55kg on Sunday.
The only last start winner in the race this year meanwhile is the Colin & Cindy Alderson-trained Leonardo Express who took out a 2500m race at Moonee Valley a fortnight ago.
