Pinker Pinker aiming for Group 1 success during the Autumn Racing Carnival
Three-year-old Pinker Pinker ($6.50) came from second-last in the Angus Armanaso Stakes to beat home Peter Moody’s Sayahailmary ($9) by 1 ¼ while Sistine Angel ($8) finished off the trifecta the same distance away third.
Pinker Pinker won her first black-type in a blistering time of 1:21.46, just 0.26 of a second outside of the race record set by Exceed And Excel.
After the win, Pinker Pinker’s third from eight starts, Eurell hinted at a trip to Sydney for his talented runner.
Pinker Pinker resumed for the season with a third behind Miss Gai Flyer in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 12.
Eurell may keep Pinker Pinker in Melbourne for her next start in the Group 3 Matron Stakes (1600m) at Flemington’s Super Saturday of Racing on March 12.
Then a trip to Sydney is likely where she could target the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 19.
If she continues to show form other options for Pinker Pinker include the Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on Golden Slipper Day, April 2 and the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 16.
