With the countdown on for Randwick?s biggest autumn carnival race meeting this Saturday, a number of horses have been scratched from the big Group races at the Doncaster Mile meeting.
In the Group 1 feature for the fillies, the $350,000 Group 1 AJC Australian Oaks (2400m), the Peter Moody-trained Ocean Dream has been scratched due to adverse health.
Now Speedy Natalie is Moody?s Only Hope of securing his first AJC Oaks win, as she faces off against the highly fancied Faint Perfume and Valdemoro.
The loss of Ocean Dream from the AJC Oaks field was another knock to big race specialist Glen Boss, who had the mount on her.
Boss is now without a ride in two of the day?s three Group 1 features, as the horse he was due to ride in the $1.5million Doncaster Mile (1600m), Walking Or Dancing was scratched from the 2010 Doncaster earlier in the week.
He still has one shot at Group 1 glory on the day as he will be behind the reins of the Mark Kavanagh-trained Definitely Ready in the $300,000 Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m).
Definitely Ready is currently installed as the $4.40 second elect with [iasbet] for the 2010 The Galaxy behind Ortensia at $3.70.
Also, in the $125,000 Group 3 South Pacific Classic (1400m) on Saturday, the Peter Snowden-trained Demerit has been scratched as well as David Payne?s Kimberley Kid. Follow the link to read more about Demerit & Kimberley Kid being scratched from Saturday?s South Pacific Classic.
