George Main Stakes Day features five Group status races including the $175,000 Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m), the latest leg of the Princess Series for three-year-old fillies.

A total of 13 fillies are nominated for the set weights clash this Sydney Spring Racing Carnival with pre-field Tea Rose Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au led by Foxplay at $2.80.

Waller’s nicely-bred daughter of Foxwedge comes off a first-up win by nearly two lengths at the track in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m), the traditional Tea Rose Stakes lead-up.

Waller has a total of three Tea Rose Stakes nominations this season with the sure-to-be-favourite Foxplay joined by stablemates Awoke and Sezanne.

Rip Van Winkle filly Awoke won her opening two career starts before a disappointing 11th on a wet track in the Tea Rose Stakes, while Sezanne comes off back-to-back Canterbury wins ahead of her Black-Type debut.

Waller prepared the 2014 Tea Rose Stakes runner-up Winx who is currently Australia’s best racehorse and guns for her eleventh consecutive win in this weekend’s Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m).

The two fillies that finished in the money behind Foxplay in the Furious Stakes are both also nominated for the Tea Rose Stakes rematch on Saturday with Bacarella (2nd) and Global Glamour (3rd).

Gary Moore prepares Beneteau filly Bacarella who also ran second to Waller’s star filly Omei Sword in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 20.

Global Glamour represents Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, the Star Witness filly having had just the two runs including a win on debut at Kembla Grange back in January.

Also coming off a last start third in Group 3 company and nominated for the Tea Rose Stakes is the James Cummings-trained Northern Meteor filly Skylight Glow.

She has won two of her four career starts to date and debuted as a three-year-old a fortnight ago when defeated under a length for her brave third to Swear in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) over the Tea Rose Stakes distance.

Cummings has also nominated for Smart Missile filly Smart Amelia who ran fourth in the Furious Stakes and remains a maiden after three starts and fellow maiden Savvan who has run second in both her runs to date.

Peter & Paul Snowden have entered for Quick Feet, the Golden Slipper performed daughter of Northern Meteor out to atone for her sixth in the Furious Stakes that followed a Silver Shadow Stakes third.

Waller’s Silver Shadow Stakes winner Omei Sword franked the form coming out of that race last Saturday running a brave second to Astern in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m).

Astern’s trainer John O’Shea meanwhile is represented in the Tea Rose Stakes nominations by Chipanda, the Sepoy filly out to improve on her Furious Stakes seventh first-up.

See below for the full Tea Rose Stakes 2016 nominations, the field and barriers out on Wednesday followed by markets at Ladbrokes.com.au who are offering the best George Main Stakes offer this weekend.
