Royal Randwick Track Report

  • Rail Position: +4m Entire Circuit
  • Track Condition: Heavy (8)
  • Weather: Overcast with Predicted Showers
  • Penetrometer: 5.96

Group racing kicks off with Race 3 at 1:50pm in Sydney today with Earthquake odds-on favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au to win the $175,000 Group 2 Coolmore Furious Stakes (1200m).

She faces just five rivals following the withdrawal of the race roughie, John Sargent’s unraced Sailing Past who had the rails draw.

Other notable scratchings including the Joe Pride-trained Laser Hawk from Race 5 where six Chris Waller-trained stable mates face off in the $175,000 Group 2 Tattersalls Club Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) and three from Race 6.

The $125,000 Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1000m) originally drew 11 final acceptors but John O’Shea has scratched well-fancied stable mates Sessions and Safeguard while Whittington’s debut for Waller since moving from the Gai Waterhouse stables has been delayed with his withdrawal too.

Four also come out from the $175,000 Group 2 Tattersalls Club Tramway Stakes (1400m) including Sargent’s Crown Oaks winner Kirramosa and recent Toy Show Quality winner My Sabeel who raced at Wyong yesterday instead when fifth in the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes (1350m).

See below for the full Randwick scratchings from today’s Saturday meet where the mudlarks including Tiger Tees in the Tramway, backed in from $5 to $3.90 through Ladbrokes.com.au to win, are the ones to back!

#1 Tiger Tees looks great value at $3.90 to win the Tramway Stakes in the wet this afternoon
