One of three black-type races on the Sunshine Coast card for Saturday, nominations for the $175,000 Listed The Pump House Caloundra Cup (2400m) have been extended until 9:00am (AEST) on Tuesday morning.

The current Caloundra Cup nominations feature 15 stayers including Street Sense six-year-old Self Sense shooting for a winter cups double.

Last time out the galloper improved on a 13th in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup, taking out the Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m) on June 17 by a runaway seven lengths.

The 40 start veteran is looking to repeat the feat getting out over the mile and a half on Saturday in his Caloundra track debut.

The Ipswich Cup runner-up Benzini is also nominated for a possible rematch on the weekend in the Caloundra Cup field.

A New Zealand-trained raider, the seven-year-old son of Tale Of The Cat carted a hefty 60kg in the Ipswich Cup on the back of a Brisbane Cup fourth.

A Group 1 placegetter back across the Tasman, Benzini has winning form over the Caloundra Cup distance of 2400m having won last winter’s Brisbane Cup at Eagle Farm over the metres.

Along with Self Sense the other last start winner nominated for the Caloundra Cup is the in-form Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Sebring four-year-old Supply And Demand.

The gelding has won his past two starts in June back home in Sydney, the latest over 2000m at Rosehill under a light 52.5kg weight, earning a tougher assignment in the Caloundra Cup 2017.

Five mares feature in the current Caloundra Cup nominations including the Kelvin Hickmott-trained War Baby who could race for a third straight Saturday.

The gutsy Warhead five-year-old enjoyed a six and a half-length Ipswich win over 2150m on June 17 before catching the eye when just a half-length away third to Rudy at Doomben last Saturday in the Group 3 Tattersall’s Cup (2200m).

Brian Smith’s Eighth Wonder mare My Diamantine is also a Tatt’s Cup graduate nominated for the Caloundra feature, the six-year-old having finished a length back fourth.

Darren Weir’s dual Perth Cup runner-up Neverland is the other standout female stayer in the mix.

Other key Caloundra Cup nominees include rising nine-year-old I Feel Good coming off a second to War Baby at Ipswich and John Sargent’s Ipswich Cup fourth placegetter Paragon.

Check out the current Caloundra Cup 2017 nominations below, the field and updated odds at Ladbrokes.com.au set for release on Wednesday.
