Two last start winners are fighting for favouritism in the Coolmore Classic 2025 betting markets as the Group 1 action of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival continues at Rosehill Gardens this weekend.

Saturday is host to the latest elite-level of the season with a class line-up of fillies and mares engaged for the Group 1 $1 million Coolmore Classic (1500m).
Current Coolmore Classic odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au have Chris Waller‘s Group 1 Surround Stakes winner Lady Shenandoah chasing a hat-trick this prep and the Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald WA expat Amelia’s Jewel coming off a win fresh in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes dominating the markets.
Ace Snitzel filly Lady Shenandoah has won her past four starts with the spring’s Flight Stakes champ having completed the Light Fingers / Surround Stakes double at her latest two runs this time in.
She ticks plenty of boxes coming up against the older mares over further in the Coolmore Classic this weekend looking to be the first three-year-old filly to win since Typhoon Tracy (2009).
Waller chases his third straight win in the event having prepared the past two Coolmore Classic winners with Espiona (2023) and Zougotcha (2024).
Lady Shenandoah is at a current quote of $2.60 and has come into barrier 13 with the early withdrawal of stablemate Lazzura who instead takes on the boys in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes over the same distance earlier on the card.
The biggest danger occupying the second line of Coolmore Classic betting is Amelia’s Jewel with the five-year-old out to complete the Guy Walter Stakes / Coolmore Classic double for the first time since Krone (2021).
The $4 million earner has barrier six for jockey Josh Parr and races at Rosehill for the first time since her second in the Group 2 Golden Pendant last September.
She boasts winning form up to 1800m and was a Group 1 runner-up at Flemington last Melbourne Cup Carnival in the Empire Rose making the 1500m distance second-up ideal for the dual The Quokka runner-up.
Waller meanwhile also saddles-up Olentia ($18) coming off back-to-back Group 2 fourths this prep, Scarlet Oak ($23), and last start Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes winner Firestorm ($27).
Zougotcha (2024) completed the Millie Fox Stakes / Coolmore Classic double for the stable last autumn and Firestorm looks the value looking to repeat the feat from the outside alley on just 51.5kg this Saturday.
There are currently two other single-figure fancies in the markets with the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained Golden Slipper winning filly Lady Of Camelot ($7.50) and the rails drawn market mover Coeur Volante ($9.50) to be ridden by Kerrin McEvoy with the four-year-old coming off a Caulfield Group 3 win in the Mannerism.
Written Tycoon three-year-old Lady Of Camelot presents fit fourth-up this weekend looking to return to winning form after a trio of second placings this prep including behind Lady Shenandoah in the Light Fingers and Surround Stakes.
The 2025 Coolmore Classic is set to run as Rosehill Race 8 at 4:35pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s 10-race card.
