Group 1 racing this Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival moves to Flemington Racecourse today, Saturday February 19, with 2022 Black Caviar Lightning Day and below we take a look at the latest scratchings and track report at HQ ahead of the first.

The weather in Melbourne today is fine and sunny and with no rain on the radar the current Good (4) Flemington track rating is set to remain across the afternoon making for a perfect day’s racing.
Flemington racing gets underway at 12:40pm (AEDT) and the nine-race card continues through until 5:40pm (AEST).
There are three Group status races to enjoy starting with Race 5 at 3:05pm (AEDT) with the three-year-old fillies facing off in the Group 3 $200,000 The Vanity (1400m).
The 2022 The Vanity field is down to nine hopefuls following the early withdrawal of the Chris Waller-trained #8 Finepoint (3) and #7 Star Spirit (11) with markets at Ladbrokes.com.au are led by Socialist from the Maher/Eustace stable.
Next-up it is the colts and geldings in the Group 3 $200,000 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) – Race 6 at 3:45pm (AEDT) – where 12 of the 13 original acceptors remain in the mix following the scratching of #13 Galleon (2) with led in betting by the undefeated Pinstriped.
The meeting’s marquee race is then set for Race 7 at 4:25pm (AEDT) with a small but class field of nine engaged in the Group 1 $1 million Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) led by the defending champion Nature Strip.
