Today’s Longines Golden Slipper Day 2021 meeting at Rosehill Gardens has been postponed due to heavy rainfall, the card to now take place Saturday week, March 27th.

More than 25mm of rain fell on the Rosehill track overnight and with today’s forecast of more downpours, Racing NSW stewards and the Australian Turf Club opted to reschedule the meeting and all subsequent major race days over the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
“The postponement of the Golden Slipper meeting is unfortunate, but in the circumstances both the ATC and Racing NSW feel that resetting the Carnival one week later is the best overall option for participants and the flow of the Carnival,” Racing NSW Chief Executive Mr Peter V’landys AM said.
Slipper Day, headlined by the Group 1 $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m), will now run on Saturday the 27th of March so long as the track conditions are suitable.
The 2021 Golden Slipper final field and barrier draw will carry over for the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.
All other race meetings forming the carnival will also take place seven days later than originally scheduled to accommodate the postponement.
Updated nominations for the remaining Golden Slipper Stakes Day events will be reopened and final acceptances taken at 9am (AEDT) on Wednesday the 24th of March.
