Flemington racing gets underway with the two-year-old fillies facing off in the Group 3 $160,000 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) at 12:20pm (AEDT).

The meeting features nine races in total and continues through until the three-year-old fillies take to the mile in the Group 2 $200,000 Kewney Stakes (1600m) at 5:20pm (AEDT) where the spring’s VRC Oaks champ Personal ($2.60 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) is the clear favourite.

Race 4 at 2:05pm (AEDT) features a quality line-up of promising juveniles in the Group 2 $200,000 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) field, before the elite level racing kicks off in Race 6 at 3:25pm (AEDT).

A star-studded line-up of sprinters do battle in the Group 1 $1.25 million Newmarket Handicap (1200m) with Kemalpasa (15) the sole withdrawal from the field and it is Chris Waller’s star filly September Run ($2.25) the punters are coming for.

The co-main event on the card is the Group 1 $1.5 million Australian Cup (2000m), the weight-for-age classic set to jump at 4:45pm (AEDT) as race eight and it is the reigning champion Fifty Stars ($4.40) heading the markets.
