The list of potential runners in both the Group 1 $1 million Schweppes Thousand Guineas and Group 1 $2 million Neds Caulfield Guineas has been narrowed down with second acceptances for the two Group 1 mile features running on October 10 closing this week.

On Tuesday Racing Victoria took the latest round of acceptances for a host of the upcoming elite level races held during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival including the Thousand Guineas and Caulfield Guineas 2020 for three-year-olds.
There are 47 remaining chances for the Caulfield Guineas this season, while 41 fillies are left in contention for a possible run in the Thousand Guineas on the opening day of the Caulfield Cup Carnival 2020.
Updated Caulfield Guineas 2020 odds at Ladbrokes.com.au are led by the undefeated Chris Waller-trained Savabeel colt Mo’unga ($4.40) last seen taking out the Listed Dulcify Quality (1500m) at Rosehill on September 12.
Waller chases his third success in six years having taken out the event in recent times with Press Statement (2015) and The Autumn Sun (2018).
He has seven of the Caulfield Guineas second acceptors including also Group 2 Silver Slipper runner-up Global Quest and his gun filly Hungry Heart who could potentially stay in Sydney for the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) on Sydney on October 3.
Hungry Heart is the only filly still holding an entry for the Caulfield Guineas this season.
Group 1 winning juveniles Tagaloa (Blue Diamond Stakes) and Kings’ Legacy (ATC Sires’ Produce, Champagne Stakes) also remain on way to the Caulfield Guineas.
As for the Thousand Guineas, all-in betting at Ladbrokes.com.au is led by Phillip Stokes’ outstanding Adelaide visitor Instant Celebrity ($5.50) who is three-from-three to date.
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt is yet to race outside of South Australia, but is being kept safe in betting ahead of her interstate raid.
Other early favourites to take out the event include Atlantic Jewel Stakes winner Night Raid ($7), Lindsay Park’s Blue Diamond third placegetter Personal ($8) and the John Thompson-trained Sebring filly Mozzie Monster ($9).
The next traditional stepping-stone into the Group 1s run and at Caulfield on Saturday with the Group 3 $250,000 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) and Group 2 $250,000 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m).
Final acceptances for both the Thousand Guineas and Caulfield Guineas close on Tuesday October 6, 2020.
