Gerald Ryan is shocked that Peace Force is currently available at long 2016 Godolphin Crown Odds, and is confident the talented mare will be very hard to beat in the Group 3 race at Hawkesbury on Saturday.
Peace Force has been a strong and consistent performer through her entire racing career so far; posting a commendable seven wins and nine minors through 23 competitive starts since first appearing on course in 2012.
Ryan told Racing Ahead he could not be more pleased with the condition of the Bernardini mare ahead of the Godolphin Crown; a race in which she finished second during the 2015 Autumn Carnival.
“She’s up to winning this in the way she’s going,” Ryan said.
“She ran second first-up back in spring and then she went to Flemington and pulled a shoe off getting around the home turn and took half her foot away.
“She came back here and just got beaten in the Festival Stakes and her run first-up was very good; she ran the best sectional from the 400m to 200m in the race.
“She’s back to 1300m, her form at Hawkesbury is OK because she ran second in this race last year, she’s looks enormous and she has to carry the weight but she’s going really well.”
Peace Force will leave from the rails draw in the Godolphin Crown with in-form hoop Christian Reith to take the ride on the mare for the first time since 2013.
“Especially with barrier 1, her last five starts she’s drawn outside 12 and she’s got a gate on Saturday,” Ryan added.
Progressing to success in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) following last year’s Godolphin Crown second, Peace Force returned to racing in spring with a typically impressive performance for second in the Group 3 Nivison (1200m).
Failing to figure when ninth in the Group 3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m), the mare out of Marrego responded well for third in the Listed Festival Stakes (1500m) on November 28th; returning to the paddock for a brief freshen up before a failed run in the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Quality (1300m) on January 9th.
Ladbrokes.com.au are currently offering Peace Force at 2016 Godolphin Crown odds of $14 for success, having cut in from an opening quote of $26.
