Paximadia has led all the way to win the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes in the first race of the day at Flemington Racecourse today November 2, 2013.
The Commands colt came back from a disappointing eighth placing in the Listed Gothic Stakes last start to claim the 2013 Carbine Club Stakes by almost half a length.
Race favourite and market mover, Hucklebuck, over raced early and was unable to catch Paximadia in the final stages of the race.
Hucklebuck finished second, while Equator rounded out the first three placings in third position.

Paximadia has now won three of his seven race starts and has earned more than $166,000 in prize money during his short career.
Trainer Peter Snowden was thrilled to start Derby Day on a high with Paximadia’s 2013 Carbine Club Stakes win.
“It’s a great way to start,” Snowden said.
“It’s good to see the horse bounce back today.
“He gave a good kick at the end.
“It was good to see him win the way he did.”
Snowden is yet to make firm plans for the remainder of Paximadia’s spring racing carnival preparation.
“Natural progression is the Sandown Guineas but I need to talk to the team about it first,” he said.
While he was over the moon with Paxmadia’s 2013 Carbine Club Stakes victory, Snowden already has his mind on the $1.5 million Victoria Derby later in the day.
“To have three in the Derby is a big thrill and let’s hope they can all run well,” he said.
Jockey Kerrin McEvoy was the jockey aboard Paximadia in the 2013 Carbine Club Stakes.
“It was just a forget at Caulfield (last start),” McEvoy said.
“But today he (was) a true galloper.
“There’s room for improvement.
“It’s nice to get the first winner.”
