Three last start winners are in the mix for the 2013 National Stakes at Morphettville Racecourse this Saturday, the two-year-olds’ feature to kick off the racing action for The Goodwood Day.

Set to run as Race 1 at 12:30pm (local time) this year’s $115,000 Group 3 National Stakes (1200m) has drawn a final field of nine juveniles including a trio coming off a win.

The Michael Kent-trained The Huntress is one of those, the Husson filly having won both of her previous career starts so far.

Drawn nicely in barrier four with Brad Rawiller to ride, The Huntress debuted at Sandown Lakeside last month and was successful, taking that form to Caulfield on the 27^th to win a black type sprint.

Another interstate raider coming off a turf triumph is the Peter Moody-trained Choisir gelding Made Of Ice, drawn wide in barrier eight for Saturday, who won on debut at Ballarat last start.

Representing the locals is then the Lloyd Kennewell-trained Ziggler who also won on debut last start when taking out a 1000m at Morphettville Parks on April 20.

Kennewell has also accepted for More Than Ready filly Vivi Veloce out to improve on her last start fifth to Calcatta in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes at the track a fortnight ago.

Fellow local horseman Tony McEvoy meanwhile will saddle-up three from his current crop of youngsters with Bel Esprit gelding Iconic (barrier two), Sportingbet Classic winner Bring A Ring (barrier nine) coming off a third in the Dequetteville, and My Little Friend (barrier five).
