Shocking fall for Damien Oliver at Moonee Valley

Like An Eagle

Jockey Damien Oliver and Like An Eagle scored an impressive victory together last start

Jockey Damien Oliver has suffered a shocking fall aboard WA sprinter Like An Eagle in Race 6 at Moonee Valley tonight. Like An Eagle passed away.

Reports are that Damien Oliver was conscious and talking after the fall. He complained of back soreness and has been taken to Epworth Hospital for observation.

Unfortunately it has also been reported that Oratorio gelding Like An Eagle, a promising horse from WA trained by Ross and Clint Price, passed away. Tonight’s race was the 11th in the short career of 4-year-old Like An Eagle who had won six races including an impressive last start win in the $100,000 Listed Hareeba Stakes at Mornington, earning $225,200 in prize money.

We offer our condolences to the trainers, owners and connections of Like An Eagle – Races.com.au.
