It will be a small but exciting race this Friday night when just eight horses line up for the 2011 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley.
There were originally 15 nominations but many have taken up offers at other tracks meaning the horses that remain have an even better chance of claiming the $200,000 Group 2 event.
Four of the eight remaining fillies competed in the Mitty’s Vanity last start which was eventually won by Southern Speed.
Out of the four just one made any impact, Count Your Fingers finishing third in that race after Do Ra Mi.

Lights Of Heaven will start in the 2011 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley and is unbeaten from two starts
The Peter Moody trained three-year-old is sired by one of the most prolific sires ever Zabeel.
The highest rated runner in the field is Becerra which flopped last start in the Vanity but did last year claim the Morphettville Guineas.
Overall it’s a fairly even looking field so the betting is sure to be quite tight with good money across the board.
