Following the release of the 2010 Railway Stakes final field yesterday the barrier draw for the $1 million Group 1 Carlton Draught Railway Stakes (1600m), taking place at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday November 20, has been taken.
Early favourite in the Railway Stakes betting markets Colour Correct has drawn barrier seven, while defending champion Sniper’s Bullet has suffered a blow in their attempt at back-to-back wins with a wide barrier 15 draw.
The punters are getting right behind the Ross Price-trained six-year-old Colour Correct as they seek a hat trick of Ascot wins following success in the Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) and the Ascot Gold Cup (1800m) already this season.
Other top picks in the Railway Stakes odds are Trusting and God Has Spoken.
The John Thompson-trained Sydney galloper Trusting has drawn well in barrier five, while Neville Parnham’s R.J. Peters Stakes winner God Has Spoken will jump from barrier nine.
Last year’s Railway Stakes fourth placegetter Grand Nirvana has come up trumps with the coveted barrier one for Saturday’s showdown, while the other big winner from the Railway Stakes barrier draw was Famous Roman due to jump from gate two.
Jim Taylor’s Famous Roman is also seeking their third straight win here after taking out the Listed Northerly Stakes (1400m) in October and then the Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) on November 6.
With the 2010 Carlton Draught Railway Stakes field and barrier draw now out, the betting odds will open at our preferred online bookmaker Luxbet shortly.
So whether you think the favourite Colour Correct will make it three on the trot, or reigning champion Sniper’s Bullet can overcome their wide draw and cause an upset, the best odds on every horse in the Railway Stakes betting will be found at Luxbet!
