2016 Ramornie Handicap Odds and Betting Update

A talented and capacity field of sprinters has been confirmed for Saturday’s Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m) in Grafton; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.

Into The Red has returned to racing in typically smart form this time and currently leads 2016 Ramornie Handicap betting markets at a quote of $4.60 for success with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Into The Red has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his entire racing career so far; claiming five wins and as many minors through a total of twenty-four starts since first appearing on course in 2013.

Resuming this time for success in the Listed Bribie Handicap (1050m) on April 30th, the Not A Single Doubt gelding was luckless in running when fifth in the Listed Lightning Handicap (1050m), but returned to winning form in the Group 3 WJ Healy Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 25th.

Into The Red has drawn ideally into the Ramornie Handicap field in barrier 3 but has been charged with overcoming 58kgs.

Godolphin runner Mogador is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Ramornie Handicap betting markets, but sole occupant of the second line at a generous $5 quote for success.

Claiming two wins and four minors through only eleven competitive starts, Mogador trialled well in the lead-up to his racing return this time but clearly needed a run when finishing fifth as clear race favourite in the TAB.com.au BM85 (1100m) first-up on April 23rd.

Progressing to fourth in the Isuzu Ute Scone BM77 (1100m), the Lonhro colt ran a pleasing second in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes (1200m) on May 28th before ending his tenure north of the border third in the WJ Healy Stakes.

Mogador could very well receive the run of the race from barrier 5 in the Ramornie Handicap, will be partnered by notable hoop Brenton Avdulla and will carry only 54kgs.

Only two other runners; Mount Nebo ($5.50) and Big Money ($6.50) currently figure at Ramornie Handicap odds of less-than $10, and both horses are proven at both the class and distance.

Mount Nebo carries particularly strong form into the Ramornie Handicap after finishing second in the Listed June Stakes (1100m) and winning the Winter Dash (1200m) at Randwick in his two most recent starts.

The Dubawi gelding will undoubtedly require some luck in running from barrier 11 but is also treated well in the weights at only 54.5kgs.

Winner of the 2014 edition of the Ramornie Handicap, Big Money’s class and experience is sure to count for a lot on Wednesday, regardless of a wide draw and a race-high 59kgs.
