Ryan Pleased with Pair Ahead of 2014 QTC Cup
Trainer Gerald Ryan is offered two great chances of success in this afternoon’s Group 2 QTC Cup (1300m) at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse in Hot Snitzel and Dances On Stars, and while confident of success, believes luck throughout the run will play a huge part in who finds the line in the clear.

Allocated the ideal barrier 2, Hot Snitzel has been unable to handle the late pace over two starts at Group 1 level since arriving in Brisbane this preparation, and Ryan believes it is the step back in class in this afternoon’s Group 2 that may see a return to the winner’s circle for the exciting five-year-old,
“He will back up and he’s back to his right type of race,” Ryan told AAP.
“His last two wins have been ion Group 1, weight-for-age races and he just quite wasn’t up to them.”
Unlucky to be blocked for a run and fourth in the Group 3 Darley Sprint (1350m) last time out on May 17th, Ryan is pleased with the condition of Dances On Stars, but conceded he will need more luck if to claim a maiden Group 2 title this afternoon.
“It will come down to luck in running” Ryan added.
Returning to the track in positive form this season, Hot Snitzel finished second in the Group 3 Sebring Stakes (1200m) first-up before securing a resounding victory in the Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m) prior to heading north.
Returning to racing in almost identical fashion this time in, Dances On Stars comfortably won the Listed Tatts Club Carrington Stakes (1100m) first-up and finished second in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) on January 10th, continuing to build in form and class on his way to an impressive win in the Listed P.M’s Cup (1300m) prior to the BRC Sprint.
Confirmed to be partnered by in-form jockey Tye Angland, Hot Snitzel is currently offered at generous odds of $8 for success in the Group 1 QTC Cup, while Dances On Stars can be taken at a quote of $9.
