The weather in Sydney is fine and clear and without any rain on the radar until the early evening the current Good (4) Randwick track rating should remain across the afternoon.

Randwick racing kicks off at 12:30pm (AEDT) and the big 10-race card – that is vying to take some of the attention away from Melbourne’s stellar Cox Plate Day program at Moonee Valley – continues through until 6:10pm (AEDT).

We have two Listed races and two lucrative Special Condition events heading the program starting with the three-year-old sprinters facing off in Race 3 – the Listed $200,000 Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) ahead of a potential trip south for the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at HQ Saturday week.

Race 7 features a quality line-up of stayers for the Listed $140,000 Tattersalls Club Cup (2400m) with markets at Ladbrokes.com.au led by Zeyrek for Hawkes Racing.

The first of the two seven-figure races on the card is next up when the $1 million Bondi Stakes (1600m) jumps as Race 8 at 4:45pm (AEDT).

The 2021 Bondi Stakes field is down to nine with Gary Portelli withdrawing Akihiro (7) from the event in favour of a run in Melbourne’s Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m).

The COVID-capped capacity crowd of 10,000 will then tune in for the first edition of the $2 million The Invitation (1400m) features 12 of the country’s best fillies and mares.

The Invitation 2021 betting is led by the Jamie Richards-trained New Zealander Entriviere whose stablemate Probabeel takes on Zaaki again in the $5 million Ladbrokes Cox Plate less than half an hour earlier down south.
