Weir has entered the well performed Snitzepeg, two times winner Tamasa and the last start winner Peaceful State who are among the nineteen nominations for the 1600m contest for the three year olds.

Snitzepeg scored his third career win two starts back in the Listed $120,000 Gothic Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 21 before running fifth to Levendi in the Group 3 $200,000 The Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 4.

Tamasa was the winner of his first two race starts before his latest sixth to Kentucky Breeze in the Listed $150,000 Emirates Airline Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on November 11 while Peaceful State was a winner at second race start when he took out the 1400m Maiden at Ballarat on November 6.

Weir will be looking for another Melbourne Spring Carnival feature race win after claiming the last Group 1 race over the four day Melbourne Cup Carnival with Tosen Stardom in the $2m Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington last Saturday.

Beau Geste looks the better of the two James Cummings trained three year olds nominated for the Sandown Guineas after finishing fourth ahead of stablemate Gaulois who was eighth in The Carbine Club Stakes.

Peter and Paul Snowden have three entries for the Sandown Guineas, Hypnotist, Almighty and Icon Of Dubai, Aaron Purcell has Black Sail and Villermont and Tony McEvoy has nominated Paseeto and Vinland.

Ladbrokes.com.au will be offering all the top odds for the Sandown Guineas meeting at Sandown on Saturday.
