Royal Symphony is yet to taste anything but success through his impressive racing career to date and tops a list of fifty-nine Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.
The Domesday colt immediately stamped himself as one to watch when he delivered a smart field a near four-length defeat in the Racing.com Maiden Plate (1200m) on debut on May 25th, before repeating the effort and result in the Gippsland Region Handicap (1400m) on June 24th.
Making an ideal transition to black type company when a fifth in the Listed Taj Rossi Series Final (1600m) on July 8th, Royal Symphony experienced a horror run in transit in the Listed Pin & Win Plate (1400m) on September 16th, but stamped his class with an incredible turn of foot and win.
Trainer Tony McEvoy could launch a multi-pronged attack in the race after also confirming Azazel and Over Exposure in 2017 Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.
South Australian raider Éclair Sunshine went within a head of winning the Pin & Win Plate as a $61 shot and has subsequently also been confirmed in Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.
The All Too Hard gelding resumed in June for a hit-and-run win in the West Adelaide Football Club Handicap (1050m) and was immediately returned to the paddock, but ran a close second behind Cliff’s Edge in the Spring Carnival BM70 (1250m) on September 2nd.
Only two fillies remain in contention for the Group 1 feature race after the Lindsay Park team confirmed Catchy and Formality in Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.
Catchy has been a strong and consistent performer amongst her age group throughout her entire racing career so far and should relish the conditions of the Caulfield Guineas, should she accept into the race’s final field.
Winning a pair of minor sprints with complete ease upon debut in summer, the daughter of Fastnet Rock was impressive when posting a late win in the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude F (1100m) on February 11th, before taking out the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) a fortnight later.
Failing to fire or beat a single runner home in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), Catchy resumed this time for second in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m), but responded with a dominant win in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m).
Formality failed to fire in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) last weekend, but she has posted several strong results throughout her racing career and is not without a chance in the Caulfield Guineas.
A comfortable winner of the Group 2 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) in early February, Formality ran third in the Blue Diamond Stakes and while failing to handle the heavy going in the Golden Slipper, ran a close second in the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) before returning to the paddock.
Trialling well in the lead-up to her spring campaign, the daughter of Fastnet Rock won both the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) and Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) upon resuming this time.
Trapeze Artist delivered some of his age group’s best a resounding defeat in the Golden Rose and has also been confirmed in Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.
Royal Symphony remains a $3 favourite in early 2017 Caulfield Guineas betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au.
