Taking place one race before the San Domenico Stakes, there are 10 youngsters in the field for this year’s Group 3 $150,000 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) for potential Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas-bound horses.

Sitting top of the latest Ming Dynasty Quality betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au at an easy $3.90 is the spruiked Bjorn Baker-trained Addictive Nature, the $750,000 yearling stepping-up to black-type company for the first time.

Addictive Nature won first-up over 1100m at Warwick Farm in July before a second behind Shogun Sun at 1200m on August 5 at Randwick, which he followed with a winning Kembla Grange trial.

It is an open affair in the Ming Dynasty Quality odds however and the dangers present as Godolphin’s last start Gosford winner over a mile Animalia ($5.50), the undefeated Assimilate ($6) who looks on the improve for Team Snowden and smart Manhattan Rain colt Runaway ($6) prepared by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.

So, will the best in betting finish in the money or is there value tipping an upset Ming Dynasty Quality result this season from the likes of Hypnotist ($10) out to make it four-from-four or the rails-drawn Sambro ($12)?

Our 2017 Ming Dynasty Quality Trifecta Tip is #7 Runaway from #1 Astoria and #2 Assimilate

1st

#7 Runaway ($6)

An open race, but fancy the consistent form around the Tulloch Lodge-trained colt who boasts a win and two seconds from four career starts so far. Is improving each run and progressing through the grades well. Two back at Rosehill was runner-up over 1500m here to the eye-catching D’argento before winning over 1550m to break his maiden status at Canterbury on August 9. Natural progression into a black-type assignment here. Over a little less distance, but shouldn’t find the 1400m too sharp. In form and ready to fire, market mover so money is coming, just needs to right run from the wide alley.

2nd

#1 Astoria ($11)

Nice price offered on the promising James Cummings-trained son of Medagla D’Oro first-up. On debut won at Warwick Farm over 1100m in the mud before a Rosehill second in late March over this track / distance in a Group 3 behind the Mission. Was outclassed in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ at Randwick after that, but this is easier. Runs well fresh, has form at Rosehill and has been bought on fitness wise with two smart trials. Genuine place chance at good odds for the punters.

3rd

#2 Assimilate ($6)

Peter & Paul Snowden saddle-up two undefeated three-year-olds in the race and of the duo this improving Sebring colt looks the pick. They took their time getting him to the races with a host of trials before his winning Kembla Grange debut on July 8. Backed up with a 1200m win at Randwick in July and his subsequent trial earlier this month has him ready to go fresh.
