Godolphin will launch a multipronged attack in the race after trainer John O’Shea confirmed both Nemrud and Resort in the 2016 Geelong Classic field.
Nemrud debuted to racing in winter this year, but was put away briefly with a view towards major targets during this Spring Carnival.
Resuming for second in the Dapto Leagues Club Maiden (1300m) on September 6th, the Reset colt placed sixth in the Hyland Race Colours Maiden Plate (1600m) before placing second in the Listed Dulcify Quality (1600m) last time out on October 1st.
Resort returned to racing this season for fifth in the Silks Function Centre Maiden (1400m) on August 14th, before placing third in the Peter & Lavella Darose Maiden (1600m).
Breaking through for a maiden race win with a dominant performance in the Functional 45 Maiden Plate (1600m) on September 10th, the Domesday gelding was last seen placing fifth in the Strathmore Flowers BM64 (2040m) on September 23rd.
Lindsay Park will also be offered several good chances of success on Wednesday after confirming both All Out Of Love (barrier 10) and Mr Aloof (barrier 16) in the 2016 Geelong Classic field.
South Australian raider Pretty Punk has found excellent form this time in and should prove tough to beat after drawing into the Geelong Classic field in the ideal barrier 7.
Placing fourth in the Coopers Vintage Ale Maiden (1204m) and second in the Taylors Wines Maiden (1200m) upon resuming this time, Pretty Punk broke through for her first race win with a dominant eight length triumph in the David Dridan Maiden Plate (1400m) on September 16th.
Having made a successful transition to black type company with a comfortable win in the Listed Hill Smith Stakes (1800m) at Morphettville on October 8th, the daughter of Rebel Raider will be partnered by Caulfield Cup winning jockey Nick Hall in the Geelong Classic.
Tumultuous has been unable to return to winning form this time in, but will relish a step back in class for his run in the Geelong Classic.
Placing sixth in the TAB BM67 (1550m) on September 7th, Tumultuous was luckless in transit when debuting to black type racing for fifth in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) on September 24th.
Having since placed sixth in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m), the Fastnet Rock colt will require luck in running from barrier 15 in the Geelong Classic but has the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
