A capacity field remains in check to face off in the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes 2016 this afternoon in Melbourne following the official Moonee Valley scratchings for the latest Victorian Spring Racing Carnival meeting.

Two Group races headline the program including the meeting’s namesake race, the $250,000 Group 2 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) where the only scratching is the sole emergency Entirely Platinum.

A full 14-starter field remains for the weight-for-age showdown and 2016 Cox Plate qualifier where betting at Ladbrokes.com.au is led by returning Group 1 champ The United States ($6) and market mover Miss Rose De Lago ($6) coming off a Group 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) win at Caulfield.

Earlier on the line-up the $200,000 Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1000m) is the other key race, the original 10-horse field down to just eight runners after the scratching of Iconic and Chloe In Paris.
