Two-year-old Capitalist more than stamped his claims as one to watch when debuting for a resounding black type victory in October, and has been confirmed to partake in a Rosehill Gardens barrier trial on Tuesday morning.

Jumping from the gates well in the Listed Breeders’ Plate (1000m), jockey Blake Shinn allowed the colt to stride forward but settled off the pace of the race’s early leaders, who injected plenty of tempo into the race from the outset.
Rounding onto the final straight with a clear racing line, the son of Written Tycoon immediately responded when asked for an extra effort; pulling comfortably clear before finding the line three lengths ahead of closest rival Detective.
Co-trainer Peter Snowden has been thrilled with Capitalist’s condition and is hopeful he will continue to progress into a serious 2016 Golden Slipper prospect.
“He’s come back in very good order and has definitely improved with the break,” Snowden told The Daily Telegraph.
“We’ll use this trial as a guide to see if we can start him off in the Wyong Magic Millions or find another race to kick him off in.”
Shinn has also partnered the two-year-old in work this time and is confident Team Snowden have unearthed a serious racehorse in Capitalist.
“I’ve been riding him in work and he’s felt really good,” Shinn said.
“As you would expect, he has come back bigger and stronger; more mature and he’s going to be a lovely ride in whatever races Peter and Paul set him for.
“The stable are one of the best in Australia at preparing two-year-olds and I think the owners deserve a rap too.
“James Harron (syndicator) has got together a group of owners that have poured a lot of money into purchasing quality racehorses and it’s good to see they have a good one in Capitalist.
“All the signs are there for Capitalist to be right up.”
Capitalist is currently rated $4 favourite in early 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions 2.y.o markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.
