2015 WA Guineas Final Field and Barrier Draw

A talented and capacity field of sixteen plus one emergency has been confirmed for Saturday’s Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) at Perth’s Ascot Racecourse, highlighted by the inclusion of a number of standout three-year-olds.

Leading Perth trainer Grant Williams will launch a three pronged attack on the 2015 WA Guineas after confirming each of Universal Law, See Me Sizzle and Arcadia Dream in the final field.

Debuting to racing for success in a Belmont minor over 1200m in July, Universal Law returned this time for consecutive wins in the Vale Nicholas Martinovich BM64 (1200m) and Savanna Home Loans Plate (1100m).

Running sixth in the Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m) las time, the Beneteau gelding is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from his first run at black type level and appears as though he will enjoy a step up to a mile for the first time competitively.

See Me Sizzle was also unable to figure when ninth in the Fairetha Stakes last time but is a proven performer at the distance and should find a good position off pace from barrier 9.

Debuting for second in a Pinjarra minor over 1200m on July 30th, See Me Sizzle won each of his next two starts before again running second behind Kia Ora Koutou in the Westspeed 3.y.o Plate (1650m) on September 19th.

Arcadia Dream is yet to finish outside the first three through five career starts and arguably figures as Williams’ best chance of success in the WA Guineas.

Winning each of her first two starts, the Domesday filly placed second in the Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) on October 21st; progressing to third in the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) before again running second in the Group 3 WA Championship Stakes (1600m) last weekend.

East coast raider He’s Our Rokkii is primed for a big performance in the 2015 WA Guineas but will require luck in running after drawing the wide and somewhat awkward barrier 12.

Beginning his racing career in his native New Zealand, He’s Our Rokkii finished second in the Group 3 Phoenix Park 2.y.o Classic (1200m) on February 14th before placing fourth in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on March 28th.

Debuting in Australia for success in the Westcourt Insurance Maiden (1206m) on September 15th, the Roc De Cambes gelding placed sixth in the Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) on October 2nd before running second in a Caulfield minor over a mile on October 14th.

Having since placed a credible fourth in the key form indicating Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) on October 31st, He’s Our Rokkii’s class is sure to count for a lot in the 2015 WA Guineas.
