Stay With Me has stamped her claims as filly to follow through her short but impressive racing career so far and has been included in 2015 Thousand Guineas second acceptances.
Running second in the Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) on debut in February, Stay With Me was unlucky to be blocked late when fifth in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) and was immediately returned to the paddock.
Having broken through for a maiden race win in a Pakenham minor over 1200m first-up this time on August 20th, the Street Cry filly claimed outright favouritism for the Thousand Guineas when beating a talented field to the line in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) last time out on September 5th.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse is spoiled for choice with the classy three-year-old fillies she current has in work, and has elected to confirm each of Speak Fondly, Sempre Libera and Flamboyant Lass in 2015 Thousand Guineas second acceptances.
Speak Fondly has returned to racing in exceptional condition this time and will relish a Group 1 race amongst fillies company in the Thousand Guineas.
Charging home to win the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) first-up this time, Speak Fondly continued her impressive run with success in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) before running second behind Exosphere in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) last time out.
Sempre Libera returned this time for a credible fourth in the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) and appears as though she will relish a step-up to 1600 for the Thousand Guineas.
Sempre Libera finished in the minors in a pair of Sydney sprints upon debuting in autumn, before running a credible fourth in the Group 3 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) and fifth in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m).
Flamboyant Lass is a proven performer amongst black type company but returned to the paddock after beating only one runner home in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in late February.
Pasadena Girl is the only Group 1 winner confirmed in 2015 Thousand Guineas second acceptances, and is a proven performer over the distance.
Winning each of the Talindert Stakes and Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) on debut, the Savabeel filly progressed to a credible fourth in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) before charging home to win the Group 2 Champagne Stakes (1600m) on April 18th.
Leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au have instilled Stay With Me as favourite at 2015 Thousand Guineas odds of $4.80 for success.
