Just 14 fillies and mares have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich; figuring as a particularly interesting race from a betting point of view and offering great value for money as a result.

Champagne Cath ($4.80) is yet to herald much more than a sprinkling of wagers for success in 2015 Gai Waterhouse Classic betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au but has maintained position on the top line of betting ahead of Real Surreal ($5) and Fare Well ($7).
Will Champagne Cath justify favouritism and win the 2015 Gai Waterhouse Classic, or will one of her many talented rivals find the line first?
1st
Real Surreal ($5)
Allocated the ideal barrier 3, Real Surreal has been charged with carrying a race-high weight of 55kgs but gives only a 1kg to her competitors and should have no issue continuing a good run of form through the 2015 Gai Waterhouse Classic. Having spent more than eight months in the paddock following an early 2014 spring preparation, Real Surreal returned to racing this time for a credible fourth in the Listed Bright Shadow Quality (1200m) on May 30th and is sure to have taken condition from the run.
2nd
Champagne Cath ($4.80)
Posting three wins and a further four minors through 15 career starts to date, Champagne Cath is weighted well at 54kgs for success in the 2015 Gai Waterhouse Classic but will need some luck in running from barrier 9. Running fourth in the Parklands Tavern Handicap (1400m) on May 16th, the daughter of Street Sense overcome a luckless run to finish a credible sixth in the Bright Shadow Quality last time out, and has the class for a competitive performance on Saturday.
3rd
Write Cheek ($15)
Write Cheek will undoubtedly need to step-up a gear if to compete in the 2015 Gai Waterhouse Classic but carries good local form into the race and appears ready. Claiming six race wins and a further 13 minors through 34 career starts to date, the Written Tycoon mare finished fifth amongst talented company in a Doomben minor over 1200m on April 4th; taking out the Cascade BM90 (1350m) a fortnight later before running on for a close second in the Parklands Tavern Handicap on May 16th.
