Today in Sydney Randwick Guineas Day 2015 lights up Royal Randwick Racecourse with a double shot of Group 1 racing highlighting the card.

It is perfect conditions for racing on course with a mostly cloudy day keeping the temperature in the low twenties while the course proper sits at a Good (4) with little to no chance of rain.

Racing kicks off at 12:20pm (AEDT) with the first of two 2015 Golden Slipper lead-ups, the $300,000 Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) for the fillies, the boys next-up in Race 2 at 1:00pm in the $300,000 Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m).
A few other black-types pepper the program before punters get to sink their teeth into the meeting’s marquee race, the $600,000 Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) due to jump as Race 6 at 3:30pm.
The 2015 Randwick Guineas field is down to just six starters however with #6 Kermadec coming out earlier in the week to race in Melbourne’s $500,000 Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) instead followed by the withdrawal of #4 Scissor Kick from the line-up.
Scissor Kick was scratched from the Randwick Guineas on Friday morning after being found to have an elevated temperature.
Of the remaining hopes, the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Shooting To Win is now the $2.80 co-favourite with Bart & James Cummings’ last start Hobartville Stakes winner Hallowed Crown.
The other elite level on the program follows as Randwick Race 7 at 4:10pm then with eight left in the $500,000 Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) field following the scratching of #4 Fontelina.
