After a win in the $200,000 Magic Millions Clockwise Classic (1000m) at Ballarat on Sunday connections of progressive filly Sheer Style are considering a trip to the Gold Coast in January for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic 2014.

The $2 million Queensland feature on January 11 could be on the cards for the Garry Frazer-trained daughter of Snitzel after she broke her maiden status on the weekend.

After two good seconds at Rosehill and Randwick respectively, the Hawkesbury-based Sheer Style relished a Heavy (8) Ballarat track posting win over Geromayo in the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic 2013.

Saluting for the punters as the $1.85 odds-on favourite Sheer Style had a length to spare over the Mick Price-trained runner-up.

Emergency runner I Am The General, who earned a start with a number of scratchings due to the wet weathe,  made the post of their opportunity running a further three quarters of a length away third.

The rest of the pack was then six or more lengths off the top three.

It was a brave effort from the winner who was having her first run on a rain-affected track.

Ridden by Jason Collett, Sheer Style did it all-the-way too having hit the front early before responding to a challenge from Geromayo over the final 200 metres.

“She more or less shied at the wining post,” winning jockey Collett said post-win.

“That’s her type of temperament she looks around a lot and in time might be a horse that appreciates the addition of blinkers.

“I said to Gary from day one when I trialled her that ‘she’s pretty natural and is definitely an early type’.

“She can be a bit nervy but today she was lovely and relaxed and took it all in which was good, she wasn’t too wound up which was perfect.”

She’ll be sent for a break now but Frazer said they were now taking a serious look at the lucrative Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

“I’d say she wasn’t really that comfortable (on the heavy track) to be honest with you, she wobbled around a fair bit and she’s probably better on top of the ground,” he told Racing Victoria.

“She can have a break now and we’ll see where we end up.”

The Magic Millions Clockwise Classic result was also a good one for the form of winner’s last-start conqueror, Earthquake, who is heading towards the $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in Melbourne in February.
