A number of promising 2013 Golden Slipper-bound colts and geldings are set to face off in Saturday’s Skyline Stakes 2013 at Warwick Farm Racecourse, the event one of two juvenile features on the Randwick Guineas Day program.

While the fillies, including current third favourite for the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on April 6 Assail, will run in the Sweet Embrace Stakes the boys will be on display in the $125,000 Group 3 Skyline Stakes (1200m).

There were 11 early entries for this year’s Skyline Stakes, nominations extended until 11:00am (AEST) today, with the shortest-priced of the hopefuls in the futures Golden Slipper odds being Dothraki.

Gerald Ryan’s up-and-coming Mossman colt improved on their fifth to Assail on debut in the Wyong Magic Millions Classic enjoying a December win at Canterbury over 1200m, an effort they will be looking to repeat when they go to the city for the first time on the weekend.

Other horses at a comparative price in the Golden Slipper betting markets then include Victorian galloper All The Talk who was last seen running a brave fourth in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) in the mud on March 2, Kiwi raider Good Job Bro coming off a three length win at Warwick Farm from February 23, and the Peter Moody-trained debutant Mahican at $51 each.

Also on the Slipper path are then Peter Snowden’s Silver Slipper failure Citations, the unraced Kirov and David Payne’s Silver Slipper fifth placed Regimental Pride who are all $101 roughies in the current markets for the world’s richest juvenile’s race.
