Punters Love Price Madly in 2013 Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes Odds

Mick Price’s in-form local mare Loveyamadly is dominating the early markets for the last CF Orr Stakes Day race at Caulfield this Saturday installed as the Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes 2013 betting favourite.

Loveyamadly

Loveyamadly has opened favourite to win the last on CF Orr Stakes Day this Saturday

The four-year-old daughter of Bel Espirt shoots for her third win from as many starts this time in having shown off her sprinting abilities at both Ballarat and Caulfield in January.

As yet the $60,000 yearling purchase (2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sales) is yet to finish out of the money having posted four wins and two minor placings from her six starts, a nice formline connections are hoping will continue when she runs in her first black type – the $150,000 Group 3 Programmed Property Services Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) – this weekend.

Last seen beating home the Robert Smerdon-trained Riviere in a handicap run under the same conditions over 1100m at Caulfield on Australia Day, Loveyamadly has opened at $3 to do it again this weekend through bookmaker.com.au.

After the top fancy it is a wide open Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes betting market this year with four other mares under $10 that the bookies are finding it hard to separate with:

  • #1 Koonoomoo ($8) – Rod Grantley’s Dubelo mare is a Group 3 winner from last spring’s Melbourne Cup Carnival, ran a first-up fifth in the Australia Stakes and will relish the drop back in class here
  • #2 Bonnie Mac ($8) – Nice gate three draw for Michael Moroney’s Thorn Park five-year-old who caught the eye when a close fourth, beaten under two lengths, in the Group 2 Australia Stakes second-up on January 25
  • #3 There’s Only One ($8.50) – One of two chances in the race for Peter Moody, this daughter of Testa Rossa should get a lovely run from barrier four when she runs first-up off a lengthy six month break before which she ran third in the Winter Championship Final at Flemignton
  • #12 Riviere ($8.50) – Redoute’s Choice mare gets the rails run from gate one with Glen Boss in the saddle as they look to improve on their second to the favourite Loveyamadly last time out

Other mares that follow closely at a slightly more generous double-figure price then include Bel Esprit four-year-old Vain Attraction whose past four runs have produced a win and three minor placings at this track, Bonaria who was second to Mosheen in the Blazer Stakes last season, and Written Tycoon four-year-old Vibrant Rouge all currently paying $11 to score an upset Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes result.
