Races.com.au readers already have access to our exclusive Caulfield Cup Day 2012 Racing Tips but to help you really clean out the bookies today across the 10-race program at Caulfield Racecourse, below we have our best bets of the day – when you should back em’ and when you should sack ‘em!
Better Than Bank Interest – Race 5 #5 King’s Rose
Punters could get Peter Moody’s classy mare King’s Rose at $2.20 yesterday to win the $150,000 Group 3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) but she’s right into $1.90, odds-on and firming. This is for a reason too. She’s a multiple Group 1 performer, Group 1 placed and was in fine form first-up when second in the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. She doesn’t come up against too much here so take her before the price gets too short.
Best Roughie Of The Day – Race 8 – #3 Jakkalberry to Place
Value galore in this year’s 2012 Caulfield Cup betting markets, but with the Races.com.au Caulfield Cup tip to win My Quest For Peace a market mover (into $8.50) we’re looking at those exotics for value. One of the market easers is another international raider in the Aussie-owned Jakkalberry who is now right out to $17 to win. While we don’t think they will do that in the debut down under this afternoon, a second placing is not without their reach from a mid-field gate. So lock them into the Caulfield Cup Quinella today at bookmaker.com.au!
In A Tight Market – Race 4 #3 Cameo
Summerbliss was favourite for the $120,000 Listed Ethereal Stakes earlier in the week but the punters have shied away from Michael Kent’s filly, winner on debut at Ballarat over the mile last start, as she could be a little off them here over 2000m at just start number two. Money has come hard and fast for Cameo meanwhile who is now the $3.50 favourite over Summerbliss out to $3.60 and we like the new favourite, Peter Snowden’s daughter of Shamardal with five starts to her name already who will appreciate coming back in class after finishing under two lengths away fourth in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1610m) at Flemington last start.
In The Big One – Race 8 # 10 My Quest For Peace
It seems plenty of other punters are on the raider bandwagon with us for the $2.5 million Group 1 BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) this afternoon as our tip to win, Luca Cumani’s My Quest For Peace, has been well backed over the past 24 hours now into $8.50. They are an ultra-consistent stallion and go well fresh with the 2400m ideal, they boast three wins over the distance and if the form of the internationals backs up this one from gate two will be hard to beat.
