Golden Slipper Day 2011 – Rosehill Betting Tips & Analysis

Tomorrow’s Golden Slipper Day 2011 at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse is the season’s richest and most prestigious race meeting featuring a bumper line-up of nine Group status showdowns and below the Races.com.au team have the expert Rosehill track and betting tips based on the form guides and facts.

Racing at Rosehill is due to get underway tomorrow at 11:50pm (AEDST) with the $125,000 Group 3 The Schweppervescence (1400m), the first race of an all black-type Golden Slipper Day schedule.

Sepoy

Sepoy remains the favourite for the 2011 Golden Stakes at Rosehill

The event racing fans and punters everywhere will be hanging out for is of course the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), the world’s leading juveniles feature set to run at 4:05pm (AEDST).

Favourite of the full 16-starter Golden Slipper field this year is the Darley-owned colt Sepoy at an easing price of $3.60 after drawing awkwardly with barrier 10.

Other exciting two-year-olds in the market include upset Todman Stakes’ winner Smart Missile ($4.40), progressive colt Foxwedge ($8) and Clarry Conners’ filly Satin Shoes ($11).

The next best race on the Rosehill card for tomorrow offering the second highest prize money behind the Golden Slipper is the $2.25 million Group 1 The BMW (2400m).

The 2011 The BMW is the sole 2400m weight-for-age race in the country and is set to run as Rosehill Race 5 at 2:25pm (AEDST).

Eleven champion gallopers are engaged for the feature including early favourite, last year’s Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday looking to break their Group 1 maiden status.

Other highlights on a dazzling day of racing include the $400,000 Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500m) where More Joyous looks set to score her fifth elite level win, the $400,000 Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) featuring a crack field of three-year-old fillies lead by Brazilian Pulse and the $400,000 Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) where nine individual Group 1 winners are among the field.

Having studied the Rosehill race fields and form guides and after consulting experts in the racing industry and the bookmakers the Races.com.au team have compiled the best Golden Slipper Day betting tips found below.

Rosehill Race 1 Tips – THE SCHWEPPERVESCENCE (1400m) – 11:50pm (AEDST)

  • #2 Do You Think from #1 Flight Of Pegasus, #4 Cocky Raider and #8 Gunhilda

Do You Think is the sole emergency for the 2011 Golden Slipper field and if Cummings’ thinks he’s good enough to line-up against the best two-year-olds there then if he doesn’t gain a start and runs against a smaller field in a Group 3 here they will be hard to beat.

Rosehill Race 2 Tips – MYER TULLOCH STAKES (2000m) – 12:25pm (AEDST)

  • #1 Retrieve from #2 Blackie, #3 Fast Clip and #6 I Think I Do

Rosehill Race 3 Tips – INGLIS QUEEN OF THE TURF STAKES (1500m) – 1:05pm (AEDST)

  • #1 More Joyous from #3 Set For Fame, #5 Jersey Lily and #7 Happy Hippy

A four-time Group 1 winner unbeaten this prep with the ideal draw make More Joyous the shortest-priced favourite on the Golden Slipper Day card.

She is ultra consistent and everything is in her favour here.

“Outstanding mare More Joyous has scared many rivals away and faces only six other runners,” Paul Vincent from Luxbet said.

“She is clearly the one to beat.”

Rosehill Race 4 Tips – VINERY STUD STAKES (2000m) – 1:45pm (AEDST)

  • #1 Brazilian Pulse from #3 Do Ra Mi, #2 Pinker Pinker and #6 Fibrillation

Another favourite not to lay, Crown Oaks winning filly Brazilian Pulse is third-up for the season, comes off a win over 1800m here in the Keith F Nolan Classic, drops down in the weights and over the distance is the clear favourite.

“Brazilian Pulse was dominant…when giving weight to all her rivals albeit in a weaker affair last week,” Luxbet’s Bookmaker Paul Vincent says.

“(Brazilian Pulse) will be improved having gone this way now and at level weights should salute. Is the best bet of the day.”

Rosehill Race 5 Tips – THE BMW (2400m) – 2:25pm (AEDST)

  • #8 Maluckyday from #6 Descarado, #1 Zavite and #7 Linton

Rosehill Race 6 Tips – GEORGE RYDER STAKES (1500m) – 3:10pm (AEDST)

  • #4 Wall Street from #14 Ilovethiscity, #13 Aloha and #2 Rangirangdoo

Rosehill Race 7 Tips – AAMI GOLDEN SLIPPER (1200m) – 4:05pm (AEDST)

  • #1 Sepoy from #12 Shared Reflections, #2 Smart Missile and #6 Salade

Easing favourite Sepoy may be a market drifter and drawn awkwardly, but his well-tried status and class should see him through.

With windy weather set to dry out the Rosehill track tomorrow, people tipping an upset Golden Slipper result due to the wet may be in for a shock.

Rosehill Race 8 Tips – QUEEN’S CUP (2000m) – 4:50pm (AEDST)

  • #1 Luen Yat Forever from #12 Base, #15 King Lionheart and #2 Vision And Power

Rosehill Race 9 Tips – SEBRING STAKES (1100m) – 5:30pm (AEDST)

  • #3 Atomic Force from #1 Swift Alliance, #5 Dorf Command and #2 News Alert
