New Day Rising makes it a double so far for Nash Rawiller, wining Race 2 on Chipping Norton Stakes Day
On board #3 New Day Rising he put in a very patient performance and let the horse show all its class.
Out of the gates #1 Syreon had the jump but Rawiller just bided his time two wide before eventually getting across before the turn.
After they straightened the rest of the field had their chance but none could capitalise with New Day Rising winning comfortably by three quarters of a length.
There was a good showing from #7 Bandar which came from dead last on the turn to storm home and grab second place but it was never going to threaten the winner.
Syreon did enough to jag third spot which isn’t too bad for a first up run from a horse which actually beat Maluckyday in a trial before this race.
It’ll be interesting to follow all three of these runners throughout the rest of the Autumn Carnival with plenty of signs of improvement coming, but on the day it was all about New Day Rising.
It’s a good start for the Waterhouse stable as well which is fielding four chances in the main event Chipping Norton Stakes later today.
Final Luxbet Results
1st #3 New Day Rising $4.80
2nd #7 Bandar $2.29
3rd #1 Syreon $2.53
