2011 CF Orr Stakes Field Dead Track Form & Betting

Wet conditions and a Dead rated track at Caulfield Racecourse for today’s highly anticipated CF Orr Stakes Day meeting are affecting the odds and betting on the headline event on the card, Caulfield Race 7 the 2011 CF Orr Stakes.

Early showers have fallen on the Caulfield track this morning ahead of the opening Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival Group 1 meeting.

With a bit of give in the ground the chances of a number of horses in the CF Orr Stakes field have suffered a blow.

Defending champ Typhoon Tracy continues to ease in her favouritism to win successive CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield today.

The Typhoon has now drifted out to $2.60 at Luxbet with the majority of her career wins scored on Good track conditions.

This could be a great price on the star mare, however, considering her wet track form is still imposing.

Peter Moody’s mare won the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500m) at on wet track at Rosehill in April of last year and also ran second in both the Group 2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) and Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) in the wet during her recent spring campaign.

Odds on second favourite Doubtful Jack, another runner from Moody’s stables, have also lengthened over the past 24 hours.

Despite the much-spruiked clash between Doubtful Jack and the Typhoon as well as the rising belief that the Not A Single Doubt four-year-old has what it takes to beat the five time Group 1 winning favourite, Luxbet Orr Stakes odds are out to $7 on Doubtful Jack to win.

Doubtful Jack’s last start win at Launceston was on a Dead track, one of his four wins from seven starts on a Dead track, so there is plenty of merit to his claims here today.

Ortensia remains the firming third favourite, now into $8 from her opening $9.50 price to cause an upset CF Orr Stakes result this afternoon.

Tony Noonan’s five-year-old mare Ortensia has had seven starts on a Dead track and enjoyed three wins, one second two third place finishes.

This is an incredible 85% place rate on a Dead track so backing Ortensia to finish in the top three looks almost a sure thing here today.

Below we list the Dead Track Form of the runners in the 2011 CF Orr Stakes Field.

One of our favourites to cause an upset based on their Dead Track Record is Moudre who has won four of their six starts on a Dead track.

CF Orr betting odds on Moudre have shortened in to $11 from $15 at Luxbet so now is the time to get behind them if you fancy a longer-priced contender.

Once you’ve had a look make sure you head to Luxbet and jump on their generous CF Orr Stakes odds!
