Premier online bookmaker Luxbet have released their 2011 Australia Day Cup odds and betting markets with Strike One and Agent Bauer installed as the equal favourites for the feature showdown at Warwick Farm tomorrow, Wednesday January 26.
The $100,000 Listed Australia Day Cup (2400m) is just one of the great stakes races taking place this Australia Day as part of the early autumn racing carnival action.
Currently the Chris Waller-trained Strike One and in-form four-year-old Agent Bauer are leading this season’s Australia Cup Day betting markets paying $3.10 each to win through Luxbet.
Seven-year-old Danehill Dancer gelding Strike One has drawn ideally in barrier two for tomorrow, resuming racing after most recently running a game second to Spechenka in the Group 3 Summer Cup (2400m) at Randwick on Boxing Day.
Meanwhile Agent Bauer, who is the Races.com.au favourite to win the Australia Day Cup, is set to start from out wider in barrier nine.
The Jeune gelding is seeking their third win on the trot and comes into tomorrow’s race having won four of their past five starts.
Most recently the Gwenda Markwell-trained Agent Bauer scored an empathic six and a half length victory on January 5 at Kensington, and despite stepping up to stakes company for the first time tomorrow, looks hard to beat.
Two other runners from the Australia Day Cup field are at single figure odds in the Luxbet market with Bid Spotter paying $6.50 and Brom Brom at $9.
Well positioned in gate three, five-year-old Redoute’s Choice gelding Bid Spotter is coming off a good second place finish behind Voice Commander in the Listed Frank Underwood Cup (2000m) at Rosehill on January 15.
Brom Brom has come up trumps in the Australia Cup Day barriers with the inside running from gate one, the locally trained six-year-old best for a Place bet.
The 2011 Australia Day Cup is Race 6 at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, due to jump at 3:42pm (AEDST).
