The 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes will be the next step for star filly Pane In The Glass after John Thompson’s brilliant two-year-old maintained her unbeaten record with a emphatic win in the $250,000 Inglis Classic (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
Pane In The Glass is sure to start as one of the clear favourites in the Blue Diamond Stakes betting at Luxbet, the $1 million showdown set to run at Caulfield on February 26, after the daughter of six time Group 1 winner Testa Rossa made it three wins from as many starts over the weekend.
Going out as the odds-on favourite at $1.26, Pane In The Glass was never threatened in the 2011 Inglis Classic coasting to a remarkable 5 ¾ length victory over roughie Collestrada ($41) with the Gerald Ryan-trained Pure Force ($5.50) in third.
Pane In The Glass became the second successive filly to take out the Inglis Nursery / Inglis Classic double, emulating the feats of Chance Bye in 2010.
Following the Blue Diamond, connections are also looking at aiming Pane In The Glass at the world’s richest race for juveniles, the $3.5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill on April 2.
Purchased for just $32,000 at the 2011 Inglis Classic Yearling Sales by owners Patinack Farm, Pane In The Glass has now won over $370,000 in prize money to date.
Despite her talent, Pane In The Glass is still yet to qualify for the Blue Diamond Stakes field as her past two wins do not count towards a Blue Diamond Stakes qualification.
