AAMI Vase Betting Tips – Cox Plate Day Race 6
As the meeting closes in on the feature event of the day, the 2010 Cox Plate, punters can get great value from the sixth race on the card – the $200,000 Group 2 AAMI Vase (2040m) – scheduled to start at 4:00pm (AEDST).
The 2010 AAMI Vase features a capacity field of 14 three-year-olds, first emergency Glacier King set to start from barrier two after #5 Bullbars was scratched from the race this morning.
Betting on the AAMI Vase is currently dominated by two runners with Smokin’ Joey the $3.90 favourite followed very closely by Rekindled Interest at $4 through Luxbet.
However punters seeking an outsider to back should check out Bart Cummings’ smart runner Kudakulari, who the Races.com.au team are tipping to claim an upset win in the AAMI Vase today.

Cummings’ Savabeel colt Kudakulari is at long $17 odds to win the AAMI Vase, punters sceptical to get behind this Kiwi-bred runner after it drew wide in barrier 13 and because of his disappointing 14th in the Caulfield Guineas last start.
However Kudakulari is expected to improve today, a top chance on the softer Dead track at Moonee Valley after previously finding the ground a little hard.
We still cannot go past the two favourites to Place in the AAMI Vase, with Rekindled Interest and Smokin’ Joey our favourites to put into the Trifecta.
The Jim Conlan-trained Rekindled Interest has exceptional form for this race, drawn well mid-field and coming off an eye-catching fifth in the Guineas.
Caulfield Guineas sixth placegetter Smokin’ Joey is well-bred Encosta De Lago colt trained by Lee Freedman who will suit this trip today.
